When all other deterrent methods and techniques fail
We can lend you this infrared solar alarm up to 2 weeks at a time to try and teach bears your property is not a good place for them to visit. If the alarm is successful at deterring “your” bear, you can choose to purchase your own on Amazon here or feel free to borrow one from us again if needed. Email us at scbearalliance@gmail.com for inquiries.
Disclaimer: You will be responsible for a stolen or damaged alarm and will be charged full cost of the device. You renting it from us constitutes an understanding and agreement to the above statement.
how this works
The device will come fully charged up (charge lasts up to 1 week according to the manufacturer) for you to start using it right away. It also comes with a USB charger if you need to charge it up later. DO NOT charge more than 2 hours as overcharging can cause damage according to the manufacturer. It will come with a remote control that has 3 settings to choose from: Mode A - 24hrs motion sensor alarm & flashing, Mode B - Night motion sensor alarm & flashing, Mode C - Night cyclic alarm & flashing every 5 mins.
The device originally comes with loud sounds of both shooting guns and dogs barking. We have made our own recording to delete the sounds of guns as that can be very disturbing to your neighbours. Please DO NOT change that recording.
Attach the device near the area of concern but not where it can be easily stolen from. IMPORTANT: Make sure it is not under direct or hot sun as well as not under the rain (cover from direct rain) as both of those conditions will damage the alarm. To turn on the device press A, B or C button on the remote. It will start by playing the recording by default. After that it will come on if senses a motion from a human or an animal. The alarm plays for 40 seconds and then stops. If you turn it off with a remote (have to be relatively close to the device), you will need to turn it back on by selecting the mode on the remote, which again will start playing the recording by default at first.
IMPORTANT: we ask that residents handle the device with due care to prevent early wear and tear or damage. Thank you!
